Bill exercises rights of audience in The Crown Court and Court of Appeal as well as undertaking more complex Magistrates’ Court matters. He has represented defendants in a wide range of cases including Murder (as junior), Conspiracy, GBH with Intent, Serious Fraud, production of cannabis other Serious Drug Offences and applications under the Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA).
Bill is also very experienced in representing prisoners before the Parole Board and has developed a specialism in dealing with hearings for life sentence and IPP prisoners where there are complex psychiatric or psychological issues.
Bill was recently instructed in one of the Operation Dino cases securing a non custodial sentence for the client in this large scale conspiracy to defraud insurance companies (crash for cash).
Bill successfully defended a client at Swansea Crown Court who was accused of ‘glassing’ another girl.
Bill recently successfully defended a client at Cardiff Crown Court against an allegation he had kidnapped his girlfriend
Bill has recently secured the transfer to open conditions of a number of IPP prisoners and has also secured the release of a recalled IPP prisoner and the release of an IPP prisoner suffering from severe mental health issues where the professionals involved were unable to agree if the issue was Schizophrenia or a Personality Disorder.
Bill trained as a chef for 5 years before going to university and still maintains an active interest in food and wine. He enjoys open water swimming and spending time with his family.
